Day 1

Today we began our journey. We left South Florida at the crack of dawn. Our entire day consisted of driving. We started our ride and had breakfast in the car; we made great time all the way to Mobile, AL. By the way we also had snacks and lunch in the car. The only stops we made were for gas and the occasional pit stop. We were amazed at how gas prices dropped the further north we got. From Mobile to Jackson, MS the ride was much slower. Anyway we made it all the way to Jackson, MS, approx 900 miles. Once we arrived we had a quick dinner at Western Sizzlin - it was cheap but kind of nasty. Unfortunately there wasn't much to choose from that was close to the hotel. After dinner we checked into our hotel and put the kids to bed.

Tommorow we will be heading to Abilene, TX.
