Day 16:

After a great bacon & cheese omelet, we piled into Magee's van and took the trip up to Glacier Point. Wow, was that worth the trip. The panoramic views from there are really breathtaking!! We could see Nevada Falls, Vernal Falls, Yosemite Falls, Half Dome (nearly in profile and from just a 1000' lower than the summit), the Royal Arches, Mirror Lake, and the better part of the Yosemite Valley floor, including our campground almost directly below us. I could have spent the entire day up there just looking. On the way back to camp, we stopped to check on the progress of the climbers we had seen the day before on El Capitan - - couldn't find them, but we did find another group of 3 or 4 guys about half way up. They were clinging to the rock about 1500' up from the valley floor. I can't even imagine how they do that! After getting back to camp, Charlie and I took the shuttle bus over to the visitors center to watch their video, The Spirit of Yosemite (very nicely done!).
