Sheridan, Wyoming Packer Fans
Can you tell we didn't have any fun?! (Paul and Jane to our right on picture). Great people! Much Needed Rest
Today we declared a down day. This last week has been constant on-the-go. Also, for the first time, we have significant rain in the forecast - both here in Sheridan and the next two days at Mt. Rushmore where we plan to head from here. So, for today, we decided to stay in Sheridan, Wyoming, watch the Packer game, try to get through some pictures to share while getting some much needed rest.
Oh those Packers!
We were so hopeful that the Packers would hold out for the win but alas, they just couldn't do it, much to our disappointment and those we watched with. However, we met some wonderful people including Paul and Jane who are avid Packer fans. Donning packer clothes, these folks, along with some others whose daughters live near Green Bay, hung in with the Packers until the very last. All of our cheering could not bring the Packers around for the win. We had great fun during the game and hope some day our paths will cross with Paul and Jane again.
Nathan, our bartender (same bartender for the Wisconsin game last evening), was back for the football games and was
Nathan
Bartender of the month to us! a great host. Kudos to him, he remembered our names, our drinks, and continued the fun begun during the Wisconsin game. Nathan was a joy to be around - handing out as much as he was given. He had a rough first hour with lots of people aside from Packers' fans. Wyoming law states no liquor served before noon on Sundays. Seeing as the Packer game along with other games started at 11am Sheridan time Sunday, Nathan helped everyone count down the minutes until noon and he could legally serve liquor. It was painful for some while just an inconvenience for others. We were not the only ones that weren't aware of the law but were two of the quieter ones upon hearing the news.
Paul and Jane helped us solidify our plans for the Rapid City area. Bear Country, USA and the Crazy Horse Memorial are add-ons based on their advice. After a great time during the game, the Wyoming folks settled down for games of Texas Hold-em. We were invited to join but opted out in lieu of rest, pictures, and other low-key things. They all said "Hi" to Wisconsinites as we left (see picture).

They broke from their game to send a Wyoming greeting to Wisconsin folks. Even though most drank Budweiser instead of good 'ol Milwaukee Miller, they're good people!! was great to see some avid Wyoming Packer fans and wish them very well. Hopefully, there will be more to cheer about the Packers next week.
Low Key afternoon/evening
We talked of doing a few different things in the afternoon and evening but in the end, kicking back was the absolute best as the rain moved back in. We got through most of the pictures from the last few days and will hopefully get posts out for those days in the next day or two. We're thankful for another great day and new acquaintances from the game.
Tomorrow, we are on to Rapid City. We are hopeful the weather reports will stand and come Tuesday, we will be able to see Mt. Rushmore in the sunshine vs. rain. Our tentative plan is home Thursday night.
