Woke up to clear blue skies this morning and in the 40’s. We washed our laundry at the park Laundry mat which was very nice. Then we left to explore the Grand Tetons. Dan and I both think this park is prettier than Yellowstone. The snow capped mountains rise up out of the flat lands and are so majestic. There are several lakes at the bottom of the mountains. There isn’t any snow down where we drove as it is too warm here. After we drove through the park we drove down to the famous “Jackson Hole”. It was only about 30 miles away from our campsite. Nothing really spectacular about it. But, we did drive out one of the country roads outside of the town and saw some swans swimming in a lake and also saw some really beautiful farmland Julie wants to buy. The farms are in the “hole” and surrounded by the beautiful mountains. The town itself is basically a lot of nice tourist shops located around the square. The square has two arches made out of antlers (doubt they are real). We ate out at a restaurant called Merry Pigs Mexican Restaurant. It was very good but very cheesy. We were hoping to see a shoot out they do every evening, but they don’t do it on Sunday. So, we headed back to camp and enjoyed the incredibly beautiful mountains and flatlands on the way. On our way back to camp we were able to see a mother moose and baby along a creek side. The baby was so cute! A few miles down we saw a male moose really close to the road but it didn’t have a full head of antlers yet. We also saw a beaver swimming in one of the lakes. Once we got back to camp we drove down to the lake close to our campsite and just enjoyed the sun going behind the mountains while all the boys skipped rocks in the lake. 😊
