Edit Blog Post
So in my last blog I told you that we were all headed to Wyoming to fish. There were nine of us in the group and we went to Glendo, Wyoming to catch Walleye. I, of course was just a spectator as those of you who know me know that I don't do smelly, dirty, fishy things so I just stayed in camp while everyone else went out on the boat each day to see what they could catch. You will see by the pictures that they all did quite well in the fish department but as for Glendo it wasn't very nice to Don & I.
We first experienced trouble with our satellite and couldn't seem to get reception there. It was extremely frustrating as everyone else was not having a problem but I told him not to worry I would get it straightened out the next day while he was fishing thinking that after the thunderstorm blew over we would get reception. When he got up the next morning he calmly said, "Hey Karen, we have a broken window." I jumped out of bed to take a look thinking that we had a crack in the front windshield
and low and behold the front slide window was completely shattered. (Notice the picture.) I was stunned! How the heck did that happen! At first we thought someone had shot it but after looking at from the outside you couldn't even tell it was broken. Strange........... We taped it up with duct tape and he went fishing. Whaddya' gonna do? We called the insurance and filed a claim and then I called to get the ball rolling on getting it replaced. At first they were like no problem we will just have a glass shop bring you out a window, yadda, yadda, and then they asked which window it was. You know you are in trouble when you are talking to someone and they give you that dreaded, "Ohhh". Needless to say, the smallest window in our Coach is needing replaced and the entire slide has to be taken off in order to this, which has to be done at the Marathon or Prevost plant. We have decided on Marathon which is in Coburg, OR as it is closer to Idaho where we are now. Not on the itinerary but hey, we are retired right so all we have is
time.
In closing, my
good is the fishing and friends,
ugly is the broken window, and
bad is that we have to cut our trip short in Idaho in order to get to Oregon to get the window fixed. At least no one was hurt and we were still able to drive the Coach. As I always say, it could have been a whole lot worse. By the way, the satellite has been working like a champ. It just didn't like Glendo for some reason.
We will be heading home to the hot valley after we get things done here in Coburg. Not looking forward to the heat but we are looking forward to seeing our grandsons, kids and friends. I will be doing one more closing blog to summarize the trip before I sign off. Hope all is well with all of you and that you are staying cool! K😊
