7th June, 2009. Cody, Wyoming

Bit Cold last night, I thought Sam was joking when she told me there was snow on the ground outside this morning, there was snow and plenty of it, we had had around 4 inches overnight and it was still snowing. Temperature was 36F (3C). That lovely white stuff didn't let up until around lunch time when I went outside and broomed the snow of our wagon, cold!!!!!!!.
Spoke to the next door neighbours and they had been heading off today to go to Yellowstone but the Sylvan pass was closed to all vehicles, so another night here.
Lunch in the RV and then off down to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, made up of the following, Plains Indian Museum, Buffalo Bill Museum, Draper Museum of Natural History, Cody Firearms Museum and the Whitney Gallery of Western Art. Anybody who hates museums would love this one, it has something for all. On our travels through the Natural History section we entered a study area which was only open because one of the guys was there doing some work, talk about interesting. He spends a fair bit of time in Yellowstone filming and photographing wildlife and

One Chevy covered in snow
showed us some of his film and photos, absolutely amazing, he still can't get over the stupidity of some people - one guy followed a bear down the road the other day no more than 10 feet away from him, luckily the bear wasn't hungry.
He sent us up to watch a film produced by the Parks Board, it showed an RV trailer similar to ours which had been ripped open by a bear trying to get to food, he literally took half the side out of an RV - this was a Grizzly.
Ross, the Firearms display would have had you stuck there all day, 2700 pistols, Rifles and guns, many of them shotguns produced by a number of makers, ranging from 1600 to modern weapons.
Great center and I would recommend to all visitors.
Tonight we have just returned from dinner at the Irma Hotel (Buffalo Bills old Hotel - Irma was his daughter). One of the best steaks I have ever eaten, nice meal and a decor to be remembered.
