Woke up earlyish @ 6 so thought I’d just turn over for 20 minutes - then at 7.40 when I did wake up we had about 30 minutes to get out and head downtown in Cheyenne for the free Pancake breakfast. Joined the queue - there really were over 10,000 people served in 2 hours!

Then we watched the Thunderbirds - great air show.

From Cheyenne we headed towards Thermopolis. As soon as you get about 20 miles out of Cheyenne he countryside starts to get a lot more open. We stopped in Douglas the Pioneer museum which was surprisingly interesting. Douglas had housed about 2,500 German and Italian WW2 soldiers from 1943 to 1945.

Back in the car we stopped and bought some petrol - which was about 1/3rd the price we pay in the UK! Then onwards towards Casper and Shoshone. Some great views before arriving in Thermopolis - some of the longest straightest roads I’ve ever driven on.

Staying at the Super 8 motel in Thermopolis - went for a swim and then popped into town to have a look around and then go out to eat. Thermal springs look good think that will be a good place to go tomorrow. Eat on main street -Pumpernicks restaurant - lovely place, nice food. Then a quick drive up to roundtop moutain past the „airport“ and some great views back across Thermopolis
