Swedish-American Museum
This was an interesting museum, especially if you didn't want the whole tour. As you can see, I was able to upload some pics from yesterday. We are almost done with the first half of the trip. Tomorrow will be our last day of attractions. :-( But we will get to see my family before heading to Okoboji, IA for Mark's family reunion. - Rhonda
We started at the same time again. Now we're on our way for the 4th day in a row. We ate at this Mexican joint called Santa Ana and it was awesome! He had like a million different flavor drinks on the wall. After we ate we got desert and it was like awesome beyond awesome. Then we went to the Swinging Bridge in Columbus Junction Iowa and my dad, April and I went across while my mom stayed at one end of the bridge and it was awesome! We went to see the WORLDS LARGEST strawberry and it was big then we went to a soda fountain from the fifties I got a root beer float and it was the best I have ever had. Well that’s it for the day. I guess I'llsee you tomorrow at 9:00 of course. - Danny
Today is Day Four
Santa Ana Restaurant
Little Mexico somewhere in the middle of Iowa. Who would've thunk it? of
The Journey.
Disappeared there for a bit. What? And you didn’t even notice? Gee, thanks; I feel loved now. Anyways, we started off at nine-ish, yet again. We had some lovely Continental Breakfast, and then began driving to… Well, we were going to Lover’s Leap Swinging Bridge, but stopped at a Swedish Museum. Correction: the Swedish-American Museum. That was about as interesting as watching grass grow; if you’ve seen it once, you’ve seen it all. After that, we went to the Swinging Bridge, after eating lunch in this little Mexican community. It was pretty cool; there was an authentic Mexican community in the middle of Iowa. We ate lunch in a restaurant called Santa Ana, I had a taco de pollo, it was delicious. We met the owner; he also was the cook and the waiter. After we finished lunch, we got some of the pastries he made earlier today. He let us try some Mexican Bread, fresh from the oven, it was so good. After that, we went to the Swinging Bridge, it was pretty cool. The last maintenance done on Lover’s Leap was done in the fifties, but it still looked pretty solid. We walked across it,
Lover's Leap Swinging Bridge
Hopefully we won't be the first ones to break the bridge. and it, well, swung. What else is a Swinging Bridge supposed to do? After our adventure on Lover’s Leap (Mom didn’t go too far) we went to Strawberry Point, Iowa. We went there to see the World’s Largest Strawberry. It wasn’t even a real strawberry, it was just a sign. Lame. But the town itself was pretty cool. Now we are headed to Somewhere, Wisconsin (the name is not actually Somewhere, I just can’t remember). I think it’s La Crosse, now that I think about it. Alright, well, I’ll talk to you later. - April
