July 19th NP to Washington via Idaho
Greetings from the Walmart parking lot in Moses Lake,Washington! We knew we had to try this at least once and we drove forever today. We decided that all we needed to do was blog and sleep so it's true-you can boondock in the Walmart parking lot for free. They even have a security guard who is around all night. Can't beat the price!!
We got up this morning and left around 10:15. We had to drive all the way around Glacier National Park as the RV is too big to cut across the middle/ Let me tell you- Montana is one HUGE state! We stopped at a little restaurant in West Glacier to eat lunch and then we were back on the road. Phil had a great buffalo burger! I haven't checked how many miles we went but Phil drove about 12 hours! We were in Idaho for awhile. We cut across the panhandle at the top. In my small geographic mind I did not know Idaho had such big mountains- I thought it was just potato fields! WRONG- We found the potatoes in Washington. So many miles of fields-as far as you could
see and super flat. Phil commented on the strange smell and then we realized we were smelling potatoes!
We are southwest of Spokane, WA and on our way to Mt. Ranier tomorrow. I need to find out how to pronounce that!
