Driving toward Monument Valley
Well Let's catch up! it is Tuesday morning. We leave Moab, Utah and head South. We arrive at Monument Valley on the Navajo Reservation. Entry to this area is by cash only so we head back out to the Gouldlings
Trading Post to get some cash from the ATM. Monument Valley is not a place for a nice vehicle. The roads
are nothing but dirt potholes. We crept along for several miles. We knew we had seen most of the
well known places so we turned back. We had lunch at the convenience store at Gouldings. We both agreed that had some of the best burritos we had eaten. After all the fine restaurants we felt this was one of the best places we had eaten on the trip. We then made our way on down to Page, Arizona. The Glen Canyon dam which forms Lake Powell is there. We did a tour of the visitor center at the Dam. It is quite
remarkable the bravery of some of the men who hung from ropes blasting the rock away.

Glen Canyon Dam

To the chagrin of some, this dam flooded Glen canyon and other smaller canyons to create Lake Powell. I have mixed emotions. It sure is a beautiful Lake.
