Zion National Park
The Zion National Park Sign. It was an awesome few days in Vegas but today was time to leave the city lights to explore some of the nearby National Parks. We packed all our gear, checked out of The Wynn and the four of us took a cab to the Las Vegas airport. It was here we picked up the hire car, we picked the biggest SUV our money could buy, a Nissan Pathfinder, it was great. Ash began the drive as we hit the interstate on our way to Zion National Park. It took a few hours to get to Zion and our first stop was the National Park sign. Each of us got out of the car and took some photos, then shortly after got back in the car to find the visitors centre. We were a little nervous about leaving all out luggage in the visitors centre car park but really there wasn’t much else we could do, our accommodation was still an hour away. So we prepared ourselves with lots of water and snacks for a very long hike on a trail called Angels Landing. It was another thing Hannah and I have done before and were looking forward to doing it

On our way up to Angels Landing. again. After a brief stop at the visitors centre we jumped on a free shuttle bus which dropped us off at the trailhead.
It wasn’t going to be an easy hike, it was extremely hot outside and it was not an easy hike to do. In fact after only 20 minutes Selina could go no more, I don’t blame her I think we were all struggling in this heat, but I still really wanted to give it a shot. Kindly Hannah went back with Selina to the visitors centre while Ash and I soldiered on. I quickly realised how much more unfit than I was when I last did it, towards the top I was really struggling, to the point where I thought I could go no longer. But I pushed on through the pain and eventually made it to the top, the beautiful views were definitely worth the pain. We both took some photos of the amazing scenery and could see a storm in the distance so hurried back the way we came. It was a much, much easier hike going back down, especially now that it was overcast and loads cooler than the earlier ascent. The whole

The higher up on Angels Landing we went, the more dangerous it became. hike up to Angels Landing took almost 3 hours, not too bad considering how unfit I was. We jumped back onto the free shuttle bus which took us back to the visitors centre, both Ash and I fell asleep on the way back we were exhausted.
We bumped into the girls in the visitor’s centre then made our way back to the car for the drive through Zion to our accommodation for the night. We eventually found it after getting a little lost, it was called Pondarosa Ranch. It actually shocked us how much there was to do here, it was the middle of nowhere really but have a large pool, mini golf, tennis courts, zip lines, a bar, 2 restaurants and loads more activities to do. We checked in and were shown to our cabin, it was a little cosy but quite comfortable. After settling in we decided to have a look at the restaurants for dinner, neither of which looked very appetising so instead we ordered pizza from the local pizza place. Ash and I headed to the bar to buy some drinks while we waited. But the wait was much longer than expected, it took ages

Absoultely stunning views from atop Angels Landing in Zion National Park before it arrived, and after all that trouble it wasn’t anything special anyway. We spent some time in front of the tv, until we all called it a night.
