Well the storm last night dropped the temperature to bearable for our walking today 😊 We took advantage of the free breakfast by having cereal, toast, a waffle (freshly made by us!) and some donuts 😊 When in America…

By walking in the wrong direction along the Riverwalk (there were only two directions) we came across the first post office in Texas which was a pretty and traditional building! Then we strolled back the right way along the picturesque river toward the al fresco restaurants and quirky shops.

Remember how we said “when in America” well Annie certainly ate like an American for lunch by having not one, but two giant slices of pizza, and then a slice of cookie (see pictures for full detail :D ) Her energy certainly perked up after that!

The Alamo was slightly disappointing because they’d rebuilt and landscaped it, especially when we think back to the preserved state of Alcatraz. After all the battle was in 1836, we expected to see some wear and tear!! But it was still interesting to learn about some of Texas’ history!

In case your worried about our junk food diet – we ate jacket potato and salad for tea, then a pot of fruit :D However, Annie the cookie monster that she is, then ate some mini cookies.

Scotty being the tight ass that he is asked Annie to trim his curling beard instead of finding and paying for a professional barber… So thanks to a craft scissors bought for $1.79 in Walgreen’s and a few twitches from Scott later he no longer looks like a tramp, well, he’s a less hairy tramp anyway…

San Antonio’s has been cool but it’s off to New Orleans for us tomorrow ! On a 12 hour bus journey – woo! So there won’t be exciting stuff to report but we’ll try write a quick hello for you all on Tuesday morning!

Heeehaaaah!

This is slice number 2!!

Food Heaven!
I wish they sold pizza like this back home! We're trying to eat healthy too honest! But when it's $3.29 for a slice like that or $3.50 for a small pot of fruit...we had to choose wisely! x x x

Ten hours on the greyhound you are bound to meet somebody that's just released from the pen ! Watch out for the bible signs as you head south not that you need any food for thought ! Make sure you go to pirate alley in Orleans. Annie, trace says that the food is amazing there but we don't want to see any necklace beads... Mardi Gras x enjoy the jazz xxx
