Day one in San Antonio and it’s just as laid back as Austin. Despite the hotel only being a 15 minute walk to downtown – it is so quiet and lacking in people all the way until the main street where it becomes this bustling town centre with loads of shops and people.

Due to Scott losing half of his t shirts to the American washing machine we looked for some new tops for him. The mall is built around a part of the Riverwalk! Annie obviously had to get a cupcake – it was a from a charity stall so she feels justified in consuming the extra calories on top of everything deep fat fried!

Sitting back in the hotel, watching Transformers on tv 😊 a big thunder storm kicks off with torrential rain (feels like home!). Hopefully this will cool things down in Texas because it’s hard to walk 5 steps without our faces starting to water themselves down!

Now mothers, there is no need to worry but there was a little bed bug issue in the first room we went it, Annie’s legs got slightly polka dotted within ten minutes of sitting on the bed (they must not like Scotty’s hairy legs!) When we went to reception to ask if they had a spray they offered to move us to the second floor were there would definitely be no bugs and having sat on the new bed for a few hours there have been no more bites so all is good 😊 We couldn’t have luxury the whole way, we are backpacking after all! Thought you’d like to know our ups and our downs 😊

We just strolled around downtown today because we have two more days here. We’re going to see the Alamo and take a boat ride along the Riverwalk tomorrow so will have some more photos for you!

Hope you’re all having a great weekend!

What!!!!!
Bedbugs? Come home immediately!!! Ha! As you said, you are back packing and these things are to be expected - but and it's a BIG "BUT" - if you bring any of the little critters home with you, you'll be sleeping in the shed whilst we wait for Rentokill to hose you down! Missing you here - Boris gazes out of the Parlour window looking at your car and wonders why you aren't in the attic - he lays on the floor up there for hours just waiting for you! In other news - Liverpool took a bit of a hammering yesterday Scotty Boy? Better send Brendan "back to the jack" - alas Spurs fared none too well against the Newcs so I await the ribbing in return! Loving Austin - have had a little stroll on google street view - nice! Have a great old time y'all and love you both heaps! xxx PS The sun shone brightly for Sarah's garden party! Yay yay yay!!!

Souvenirs?
I was going to bring some Texan bugs back as a souvenir? I think we should announce that the attic is my bedroom - a full on loft, I'm not being kept in a Harry Potter type way to those who don't know! And Boris is my dog. Scott was expecting a grilling for the Liverpool loss just not off you mother, harsh harsh! Yay for Sarah's birthday! Love you too x x x

Mmm cupcake!

Is this really Texas?
If this is truly Texas, I would have expected the cupcake to be much bigger? x

Walking along the River

Tweadle dee .....
Are you sure it's the American washing powder or your new found diet that's caused the t shirts not to fit anymore ? Don't forget loads of Alamo photos xx
