Day 31 once again started with very little sleep. We had an optional trip this morning for a drive out to Fort Worth, Texas.
There was prob only about 20 of us that showed up, as tired as i was i figured i wouldnt get a chance to do this again any time soon so why waste my day in bed. It was about a half hour drive out there anyway on which we got to spread out on the seats and sleep anyway.
We arrived in what was kind of like an old cowboy town that you see in the movies but it had been kind of touristised. The had some old saloon style shops etc so we just walked around taking photos and going into the souvenir shops. A funny thing we found was a lil gun that when u squeezed the trigger u got an electric shock..Highly amusing as the group of 4 that i was in hadnt seen me be the first fool to fall for it, So everyone had their turn, Im surprised it still worked as each time each person got shocked it was quite forcefully thrown at the brick floor. We

the statue of some guy wrestling a bull left and went to have some lunch, We felt we couldnt leave Texas without a try of some buffalo wings and chilli cheese fries. The fries were great, they had like a meat sauce and cheese over fries, the buffalo wings werent great.
While we were eating we were given a show of the cowboys herding cows down the main street. We jumped on the bus, bound for Dallas once again.
After another half hour sleep on the bus back in, Lauren and i met up with Carl and Scott outside the '6th Floor Museum'. This was at the former Texas School Book Depository Building. It was where the shooting of John F. Kennedy took place. We went up did a 2 hour audio tour which went though JFK's story, his life, his death and all the conspiracy theories of what “happened”. The window of the 6th floor of which Lee Harvey Oswold allegedly shot Kennedy from was still set up the way it was found and if you looked out the window there was a white X marked on Elm Street of where JFK was when he was shot.
It was all very sad and depressing in there but
definitely something anyone who goes to Dallas has to do. As we weren't allowed to take photos inside we made our way out the front and even onto the road next to the X on the road and not to forget pictures on the grassy knoll of where more of the bullets are rumored to have come from. After this we ventured round the corner to the JFK Memorial. Its made of white/cream concrete as opposed to the normal black that memorials are made of as they said they wanted to make people remember all the good things instead of the bad and sad.
We headed back to the hotel to use free wireless and get ready as we were heading to the Mesquite Championship Rodeo.
Personally i wasnt a fan of this. It was so wrong, poor lil cows getting roped and tackled just for entertainment sake...wrongggggg!
The only highlight of the night was the when we got handed programs for the night, Marnees was signed. we didnt quite know why but as it turned out she won a pair of cowboy boots.. sweet!
So 2 hrs later we left the Rodeo only to come outside to probably one
of the worst storms ive seen. It was pouring rain and the thunder and lightening was, no joke, every 2 seconds.
We jumped off the bus, dropped some people off at the hotel and the rest of us headed out to a bar called Gilleys.
When we walked in the place was quite large. And there was a few people here but contiki brought the party. There was a band and a mechanical bull. Personally i gave the bull a miss but it was attempted by many. Come 2:15am by the time they got us out (and after id convinced the DJ to play Downunder by Men At Work) we made our way back to the hotel, for chips and cheese dip in one of the girls rooms.
Got to bed in time to get just over 2hrs sleep.
