Day 4 July 12th-The Badlands, Wall Drug,Mt Rushmore, Keystone
We woke up in the Badlands and spent the morning touring the area. Spectacular scenery. It reminds us of melting sandcastles but huge and gigantic! We stopped by Wall Drugs Store in Wall SD and then arrived at Mt Rushmore. That's a pretty impressive mountain carving. We did the tourist thing and were glad we did because we had a great park ranger that gave the talk. We camped in Keystone,SD at the base of Mt. Rushmore in a little podunk RV place called Miner's Resort. Using the word resort was quite a a stretch but it was a great location right in downtown Keystone(which was about a block long). We had dinner and margaritas at The Red Garter Saloon on the balcony out front and then went inside to listen to Karaoke(Gary, Kenny, Bobby and Vince should have been there) in a real saloon. Back to the Rv site. (South Dakota-check)
