We got up around 7:30. Ken had coffee and I had tea. He had whole wheat toast and I had egg whites; we both had orange juice. Ken put up strands of Halloween lights. We want it be festive for the girls. We made reservations to go kayaking on Saturday on the French Broad River. Bella is bringing a friend and we will need her mother to sign a release for kayaking. We make phone calls to arrange where we can meet her. She works at the Harrah casino in Cherokee- the same place April works. So we drove there and met her there so she could sign the release and April met us there too so she could sign the releases for Lola and Bella. Then we headed to the girls house, trying to beat the school bus. We want to be there when they arrive. A few minutes later they arrived and they were excited and running around the yard as Ken chased them. They were packed and ready to go. We stopped at Target on the way to get some river shoes for the girls. Of course they were hungry to we decided to have dinner before going
to the campground. Their home in Bryson City is about 1 1/2 hours from Asheville. We decided to eat at Avenue M again! Again it was so good. Ken and I ordered a repeat of last night. Lola got pasta, Bella and Lindsay (her friend) ordered a chicken dish with mashed potatoes. They shared slices of chocolate and New York cheesecake.
Afterwards we went back to camp and I headed to Ingles to pick up a few needed items. When I returned, the campfire was lit and they were all anxious for s'mores. As we hung out by the fire, Lindsay entertained us with some of her dance routines. She takes several kinds of dance and performs. Little Lola tried to learn a few steps from her; it was cute. We took turns telling stories, some scary, some silly. Then we took a flashlight walk-it's really dark here on the mountain! Lola was a bit afraid and wanted Pops to carry her. We went back to the RV. The older girls wanted to take another walk in the dark, so Ken went with them while Lola and I stayed back. I had a little 'learn how to sew' kit
for her and we spent time sewing. The girls came back and said Ken stopped to talk to someone and would be back soon. Lola and I were in the bedroom and we suddenly heard a scratching on the side of the RV....of course, it was Ken...he tried his best to scare us. It was then time for bed, we have to get up relatively early for our kayak trip. We set up the bed for Bella and Lindsay and Lola's place on the couch. She was upset that she couldn't sleep with them, so we let her sleep with us until she fell asleep and Ken moved her to the couch...I wanted to snuggle with her anyway. I've missed her so.

For the girls, Ken scratching on the side of the RV might have been frightening...For me, Ken in that Wiener outfit is terrifying! Miss you guys! Blessings - Leo
