Dean & Sarah
In front of the American Falls, American side, on the viewing platform Day 10 – Wednesday – Niagara Falls WHAT A DAY!!!!! Well we wanted to cram as much possible in to our only full day here at Niagara so had a VERY early start. John seemed fine but Dean, Jen & I were struggling with reaching consciousness!
In our quest to hit all major American fast food chains, we had Denny's for breakfast (mmmmm was good!).
Then we eagerly headed to the visitor centre to buy our "passports" (tickets allowing access to a number of areas) only to be informed that a lot of it wasnt operational yet (beginning of the season....who knews) and in fact we could NOT do the "Cave of the Winds" which is where you walk nearby the falls. Hrmmph.
Oh well, we bought our tickets for the Maid of the Mist (the boat that goes out past the American Falls and in to the Horseshoe Falls) - oh and guess what, THAT only just opened TODAY. So we were in fact on the second boat of the season (you can only imagine how devestated we would have been to be here and not be able to do that either - how

Check out the size of that french toast...mmmmm lucky!!!).
Ok, WOW WOW WOW WOW is about all I can say about the boat trip. It was AMAZING. I'm getting all chills just thinking about it now. It is SOOO cool! As amazing as the falls are to look at, to be right up close, feel the spray, and hear the rush of the water is just amazing. Any more words just wont do it justice.
But what we did discover when we were on the boat, is that over on the Canadian side, they have an attraction called "Behind the Falls" that WAS open, which of course made us perk up our ears. Anyway, we had a look around the American side, a coffee and decided to head back to the hotel for a brief nanna nap in the afternoon before heading over to the Canadian side.
Now let me tell you EVERYONE that we had spoken with, recommended we head to the Canadian side to see the falls. To the point where it was like OK OK, whatever. Sheesh, what's the big deal?! Well let me tell you people it IS a big deal. The Canadian side is so much of a better view
DaS on the Maid
In our sexy ponchos on the Maid of the Mist boat and is just amazing.
So we had a bit of a look around, before heading dowwwwn dowwwwwn dowwwwn to the base of the Horseshoe falls (ha, an elevator thank goodness and not stairs!). You can go out on to viewing decks right up close to where the water hits. Again...AMAZING! And then, you can go through tunnels that have been built behind the falls and you can walk out towards the falls - so cool!
THEN (yep it was a BIG day for us!) we headed up for dinner in the Skylon revolving restaurant (better late than never!) - it was delish....and what a view!!!! Seriously, just when you think you've seen it from all angles and start to get a bit blase....WOW!
The border crossing this time in to the USA was a quick an easy process, and tonight, a nice relaxing chill out before another big drive (down to Washington DC).
"Dean's Details" –
Niagara Falls is UN BLOODY BELIEVABLE!!! I wont do it an injustice by trying to describe it
