New York City
Amazing view of the lake and city skyline I woke up quite early on my first day in New York. I thought I would have slept for ages since I had hardly any sleep yesterday but maybe it's the jetlag and the time difference which is confusing my sleeping pattern. Got up around 8AM had a shower and got back into the clothes I was wearing yesterday. I went to reception to see if they had my luggage but they didn't, I thought I'd check again later in the day, right now I’m going to explore New York. I grabbed a map and headed to Central Park. I wondered around Central Park amazed I was in one of the biggest cities in the world. I stopped at the massive lake for some pictures of the beautiful city skyline view from central park. With huge skyscrapers towering over the trees it was an incredible sight to see. Still so many people out and about, many people jogging around the lake or having breakfast in the park. I saw a squirrel for the first time, there are quite a few running around central park. I stopped by a few smaller lakes to take some pictures and also had a quick look

New York City skyline view from Central Park at Central Park Zoo before eventually making my way to the 24 hour apple store on 5th Avenue.
I went on the free internet for a bit to update my facebook then walked down 5th Avenue a bit before Amy called and we organised to meet in Central Park and go to the Zoo. I headed back to Central Park and waited for Amy to arrive. Met her outside the Zoo and went in to explore. It was quite a small zoo but still very good, strange to see animals like polar bears in the middle of a zoo in central park. It also had an amazing bird aviary which was very impressive, housing birds like a toucan which was cool to see. After spending some time at the zoo Amy wanted to show me a candy store around the corner, so we headed to Dylan's Candy Store which was a 3 level candy superstore, it had every single kind of candy I know and plenty more I’ve never heard of. We ordered a frozen chocolate cookie super sundae which was quite good.

We then walked for a while and headed

Castle in Central Park overlooking Turtle Pond for Grand Central Station. It was amazing, I recognised it straight away from many different movies I’ve seen it in. With a massive American flag hanging from the roof and the gorgeous architecture of the building blew me away. There were people everywhere, most of them in a rush to get where they’re going. After that we walked to the New York Public Library and went inside to have a look. A beautiful building full of so many many books we explored all around the library before heading back to Times Square to look around. Still packed with so many people but looks very different during the day, an amazing sight and one of my favorite places so far, I came to Times Square at least once a day. We caught the subway back to my hostel but my luggage had still not arrived. I called my parents and asked if they could follow it up for me then got some pizza and headed to Amy's hostel around the corner. I called my insurance who told me I can purchase some clothes and keep the receipts to get my money back which was a relief. So we sat ate dinner

Central Park path and picnic area and had some drinks, I met some of Amy's friends she met at camp then walked back to my hostel to bed. I still had no luggage or any idea when it would arrive.
