Aint life grand when you share it with mates??? Since Sarah Andrews arrived last week, Manhattan living has stepped up a notch.

Thanks to 2 lucky pennies picked from the street grime last week, Dave won the 'Avenue Q' lottery! The hottest show on Broadway since 2004, touted as a cross between Sesame Street and South Park, (aka Puppet Porn), and closing it's doors in 3 days time, those naughty muppets were calling our names. Prime tickets retail at about US$125 each. Dave scored a double pass and we swindled a third single winning ticket from a guy who couldn't see himself Broadwaying all alone. Too easy! Little did we know, the seats were seriously front row. We spent 2 hours laughing our asses off under a shower of live theatre spit and near-miss kicks to the nose.

Man I love the theatre! I finally feel as though I'm living New York as I should. Next Broadway stop: 'Wicked' and then 'A Steady Rain', the new play starring Daniel Craig and Hugh Jackman.

Sar and I boarded the dodgy Chinatown bus to D.C later that weekend. After spotting a driver smoking a bong (!) at his rest stop, we opted to avoid Chinese business transactions from hereon in. We stalked Obama's house. He was a no show, obviously on vacation for Labor Day Weekend. After a delicious spanish tapas in the gorgeous University neighborhood of Georgetown, we slept like babies in our palatial hotel. Thank god we scored a place on the Chinatown bus ride home. The Chinese overbooked prepaid seats (apparently a common occurrence), left 20 fuming people stranded in the darkening backstreets of Baltimore, and resorted to cries of, "No Engrish. Call office!" as the jilted passengers mobbed the closing bus door. Never again - even if they do only charge $20 from NY to D.C. Life Lesson #1: You always get what you pay for.

On the work front, my favorite architecture boss dropped by 'The Australian' to invite me back. Only a few days this time, but it's definitely exciting. I've decided my 18-month career break is over. It's time to get back to work!
