Warning on sliding door
This is on our exit to the pool area from our room...umm wonder who was in here before us????? Ok so this is day 2 of our Las Vegas Adventure; originally it was to be Day 1 but if you have been reading the first entries you would know that we changed our dates. And it is all to the good because we had an awesome day yesterday and what follows is just as good so keep tuning in little buckeroos.
This morning I woke up around 5:30am and made myself a very small cup of coffee on the rooms coffee maker and jumped on the laptop. I was able to get internet service through my wireless internet thing-a-ma-bob with a server called Cheetah and spent about an hour pissing around with the set up-charges-etc. etc. and after $29.95 for 5 days it really SUCKS!!!! Not only did it keep kicking me off and freezing up but did I tell you it cost me $29.95!!! So if anyone out there wants to get wireless internet in Las Vegas don't sign up for this one. Anyways I went down to the Casino and after buying a large good cup of coffee, and donated my $20.00 to those one arm bandits.....I wandered into the gift shop and bought my souvenir
Back entrance to our room
cool little sitting area...if we only had time to enjoy it baseball cap for $4.99 (with my coupon...luv them coupons) then grabbed a couple of coffees for me & Nadine and returned to the room. We packed up our belongings and checked out of the Fritz around 10 am and jumped into a taxi. He took a very scenic route (umm was it to watch those pennies click away or the usual route???), and arrived at the Imperial Palace around noonish. We tried to check in but they said that our room wouldn't be ready until around 4pm. So we dropped our luggage off at the bell hop desk and headed out to refresh our memories. I like the location of the Imperial Palace, it's right in the middle of the "Strip" and close to everything.
Well we had a few hours to wander around so we headed up the strip and stopped at the Dublin Up Irish bar in the Flamingo hotel for a couple of beers & Colorado Bulldogs ( paralyzers). Checked out a lot of the Casinos on the strip and a few of the shops and Nadine bought a cute face plate for her IPod. We grabbed some booze and hotdogs etc. for the room and
The Pool at Imperial Palace
Too bad we can't use the pool...it doesn't open up until May...what's with that??? checked in at the Imperial Palace around 4:30pm. The bell hop just about beat us to the room with the luggage...and we are only on the 2nd floor...cool!! Pretty nice room....sliding glass door out to the pool area, but unfortunately the pool isn't in operation until sometime in May??? what the hell is that all about...and I had even brought my bathing suit...it's definitely warm enough to swim now...around 68 degrees F.
Ok back to Touristy things now....so after a bit of a rest we headed out again around 6pm and grabbed the "Entertainment Las Vegas" book that I had bought before leaving Victoria...and headed off to Planet Hollywood. They have an variety show there called "V the Ultimate Variety Show" that starts at 7:30, so we wandered up to the ticket booth and figured they would be all sold out...but what the hell...the ticket seller said that they would be able to squeeze us in and had a good seat left....Damn Right it was a good seat....2 rows from the front of the stage in the VIP section. She said that we could be seated at 7:20 so we had time to tour around a bit and laugh
at all the "Peons" who were standing in the regular line-up since 6:30...HaHaHa....We Rock!!! and to top it off the tickets only cost 1/2 the regular price $91.00...instead of $182.00...which is great for Vegas.
We sauntered to our seats and ordered a couple of drinks and watched a fantastic show. The MC was Wally Eastwood...a juggler (the guy on the internet who plays music on a huge piano thingee by bouncing balls on it), Touri & Nikolai... who are amazing acrobats, Nathan Burton...a comedian, Joe Trammel....who's suppose to be a great impressionest and pretty famous?, Jason Byrne...A hot and upcoming Canadian Magician who does AMAZING tricks pulling canaries & even a huge parrot out of silk scarves...just blew us away...and made Nadine wet herself, and Doug de Forest...a FANTASTIC drummer who was attached to ropes and swinging 20' in the air playing drums and bouncing around like a mad man....TOOO COOL!!!
After the show we grabbed a few sandwiches and headed back to the room for a late supper and turned in around 11:00.
It was a Good Day to be back on "the Strip" again.
