Hello everyone! Although we didn't have a typical montly question, we did ask about photo recovery suggestions and we would like to congratulate Scott as the winner as he has been a great help!

Since writing last, we have been having a great time in Las Vegas. On our first full day, Jean gave us a tour of the local casino (The Redrock Casino) and we had a fab lunch there, whilst playing Keno (but we lost many times). She also showed us around the local Redrock National Park which was breathtakingly beautiful.

On the following day, Jean kindly took Bob on a day trip down to LA to try and retrieve the photos from the orignal computer but with no luck. In the meantime, me and Yvonne hit the strip starting at the Mandalay Hotel. We walked through to Luxor (Egyption theme) and Excalibor (Medieval theme) Hotel and then we went to New York New York and across to MGM (which has real lions as the attraction). Yvonne gambled in the majority of them and we had beginners luck but then we lost it. All the casinos were very luxurious and flash! We then ended up at the Belagiro Hotel and we watched the largest musical fountain in the world (In 'Ocean's Eleven') which was really massive and spectacular. We were then kindly picked up by Jeans friend as the restircted access wouldn't have let us in and we watched American Idol.
We then visited and did a tour of the Hoover Dam (largest dam in western hemisphere) on the next day. It was a great excursion (which took about 45 minutes from Jean's) and lake Mead was massive & beautiful with the mountainous scenery.

We hit the strip on the following day which was great fun. We started at the far end with the Stratosphere and worked our way through the Sahara. Yvonne made an accidental good winning of $6 on the poker machine as the machine broke down and she got all the previous chnage that people have won so that was great! We then went onto Circus Circus which had good free circus acts in the world's largest indoor adventure park. We then walked to Treasure Island, The Mirage & The Venetian (which had a canal, gondalas & St. Marks Square). Yvonne espeically got into the spirit by having a gelato. We then went to Ceaser's Palace & The Bellagio, whcere we saw the massive musical fountain at night which was beautiful.

It was great seeing Yvonne in America so it was sad to see her get a plane back to England. Jean wants to say a big thank you to Yvonne for the present and we can't wait to see you again!

Sinatra was here
Have you been to the top of the Stratosphere tower. The view of the strip is great and the rides are awsome. Also old Vegas, downtown, with the light display at rooftop level is worth a trip. Neil finally moves into his flat this weekend and Andrew/Laura/Quads/Penguin move into their new home on Friday. We are all looking forward to your return and to learning where you have really been all this time.

A joke is a joke, but this has gone on long enough...
SO! After you received my comments about their poor service in Fiji, the Acme people stamped their collective feet and refused to play any more. Truth was that they didn’t have any posters of Tahiti, the Cook Islands, the Falkland Islands, Iceland, Norway, the Outer Hebrides and wherever else your fantasies took you so you came up with some cock and bull story about being kidnapped by Martians who stole your photos, refused you baked beans on toast and dumped you in America... I don’t think so! These tales of yours get more and more extrodinary. Let’s look at the latest sets of “evidence” shall we? Las Vegas(1). You were VERY LUCKY not getting caught scrawling on that nice man’s fresh concrete... if you’d written “Bobbies” they would have traced you easily and probably given the back of your legs a nasty slap! I see Peacehaven still features heavily, one, the standard view out to sea, and two others looking inland at the Peacehaven cliffs. Only two out of ten for originality there. Nice views around Soho; at least you were honest about the Notting Hill photo, I’ve been in that book shop many times. I even recognise the multi storey car park, although they didn’t call it The Getty then, more like The Ghetto (har de har) I had forgotten that the higher floors were circular. I see you carelessly included a shot of your foot, must have been taken when you loaded the film, were you in too much of a hurry to delete it? Brighton Pier doesn’t change a lot, does it, although it takes a better picture at night. See that Acme provided a few extras for the indoor shots although using Disney costumes is a little passe. Las Vegas(2). I have little to add. Okay, Acme Posters seemed to have scraped up some old stock pictures for you to load, but don’t you think padding them out with one from Venice and a couple from Canary Wharf and EVEN a shot from Star Wars was a bit much. I have spoken to your dad and he has agreed to terminate the leases of the four families who have moved into your rooms and allow you to move back in... no recriminations about your little fibs. You may have to camp out in the garden for a few weeks while the leases run out but the 3 new dogs he has are very good company and quite docile, providing you don’t shout or make any sudden movements. Did I mention them before? He got them when the Acme Attack Dog Centre went bust after a Rabies outbreak. Basildon may have its charms, but as the saying goes, “There’s no place like home”. Hurry back!! Love, Cuz
