The Valley
Looking Over Boz-Angeles. Two weeks ago, Bozeman was slapped upside the head with a nice cold front that dumped snow up onto the mountains and rain down in the valley. Some friends and myself decided to leave the crisp autumn air and hike up to meet the winter on top of the mountain. We hiked up a way unfamiliar to me, thru Sypes Canyon amongst some mountain bikers and a few hikers, but as we got further and further up to the snow we saw less and less people. It was fairly bizzare to go from the nice mid 60's weather of fall to the very cold low 40's up on Mount Baldy. Coming down we met some more hikers and their dog hiking up to the cold bald feet, but we didn't stay long to chat as we were running down the snow coated rocks and sliding down the mountain (quite literally skiing down the mud and snow with our boots). It took roughly four hours to get up and two hours to come down. On the way up we made a pretty sweet discovery of a cave in the side of the mountain wall and went up to explore it, though covered
Snow Capped Bridgers
From the top of Mount Baldy. with bat quano, and a touch of pigeon poo it was relatively homie and if I ever decided to live in a rock, perhaps this would be the most likely spot to stop and set up shop. Hell it even came with free pet pigeons and bats.
