Hylite Canyon
A small flower clinging onto a little island of rock amongst the falls. I kind of feel bad about writing about this hike a month after it occured, but this semester has been quite hectic and busy. This was just a hike up to the top of Hylite mountain around the time of the very large
Derby Fire which has burnt over 190000 acres (yep that's four zeros) here in Montana. One thing I will say about this hike is the amount of Waterfalls coming off this mountain were amazing. One in particular was awesome, it must have been over 150 feet of water flowing down the mountain and at the top there was this little cave filled with moss. We ended up stoping and having a brunchy/lunch thing by Hylite "lake" (a very large mud puddle). It was a sweet day hike, and only a hop, skip and a jump from Bozeman.
