During my trip to the Twin Cities, I decided that a nice thing to do would be to get the kids out of the house. I brought them to Como Park Zoo in St. Paul. It is a donation only zoo. So being that I was still in Nursing School (aka broke), it was not expensive other than the treats that I bought them. All of the kids have already been there but how can you go wrong with animals??? In 1897 the park was given three deer, which started the Zoo. It has expanded over the years to include seals, gorillas, tigers, among others. It is about 380 arces in St. Paul, just on the public transit line (or right off of it). It is a wonderful place to go, not only if you're tight for cash but also to educate yourself on the animals and surrounding.
