The Little Stone Church is a popular spot for weddings on the island.

This is one of the stained glass in the little stone church on the island. It depicts the early missionaries trying to convert the local Indians.

The soldier barracks are now a gift shop and small museum.

This is what the soldier's rooms looked like. They were not allowed to decorate or add any personal touches to their spaces.

Look familiar grandpa? These guns are original Civil War guns. They tried using replicas and they lasted a couple months before breaking. Nothing like the real thing!

The schoolhouse was both for the soldiers and their children. Depending on the particular Captain at the time, some required that all the soldiers attend lessons for at least 2 hours a week. There also was a public school on the island.

The Hill Quarters is a duplex for the head honchos and their families. This was the place for a number of fancy parties for the local socialites.

Awesome pictures of the stained glass in the churches. I've been wanting to learn stained glass. Also, I love flower pictures and am constantly taking them on any trip i'm on!
