The weather could not have been better and the course was beautiful. We ran around what is known as the Emerald Necklace, a series of lakes around Boston through residential neighborhoods with enormous brick homes. Spectators were scattered around the course cheering us on and the last mile of the course cut right through the Boston Zoo, past the giraffes and zebras. I don't usually miss much ... We drove to Amherst, where Wendy lives, the night before the race...had I known how far it was we would have gotten a hotel room! We spent 3 hours driving when we should have been sleeping!

Why is one side of the V formation always longer than the other?......Because there are more birds on that side. Dumb joke my dad used to tell. :)
