Well heck, you would think by now we would be getting used to all this crazy cold New England weather but when you wake up on July 2nd and it’s so cold you can see your breathe, that’s just insane !! We decided last night that we were going to sleep in this morning so we didn’t even set the alarm on Tim’s phone. Somewhere around 11:00 am we rolled on out of bed to another rainy day. The thermometer on the window said it was 53 degrees and I believe it ! We actually had to cut the heat on for a bit because as we were talking we could see our breathe in the air ! I really needed to make a trip inside and re-stock on a few things before the rest of the gang arrived tonight so I got ready and headed on inside Wally World. Just as I was heading out the door I heard Tim yell my name. I’m telling you now, you will not believe this ! He’s standing in front of the windshield yelling at me for a towel. It seems as though it was raining so hard, the windshield began to leak
!! I give up !! First the shower, then the kitchen sink and now the windshield ! Is there anything left ?? I sure hope not ! Can this day get any worse ? He proceeds to get all the water cleaned up and I head on inside to get the shopping done. I thought while I was in there I probably needed to try on a couple of pair of jeans just in case the weather doesn’t get any better because I only brought one pair with me. You’ll probably be seeing a lot of those Levi’s in the pictures to come ! I did a little shopping in the grocery department and then I headed on over to the women’s department. They had two pair of “short” jeans in my size so I decided to try them on to see if they would fit. As I’m in the dressing room trying the jeans on, all of a sudden, I felt something come crashing down on my head !! Yes people, this day could get worse ! It’s the freakin’ mirror in the dressing room !! It fell off the wall and hit me right in the head and
shattered into pieces ! Just as I was being attacked by the mirror, Tim was trying to call me on my cell phone, over and over, he was in the store and he was looking for me. About that time I come out of the dressing room, seeing stars I might add, and he comes around the corner. He’s like “why aren’t you answering your phone ?” and I’m like “you see that mirror over there, it just fell on my dang head !”. The manager comes running over to see what all the commotion is about and he sees me with my hand on my head and then he sees the broken mirror. He was all like “Oh my goodness ma’am, are you all right ? Do you need to see a doctor ?” as I was trying to tell him that I was okay, Tim jumped in and said, “Yes, she needs to see a doctor about her head, but not because a mirror fell on it !” He’s such a little smart *** sometimes ! I was like please get me the heck out of here so I can just get some Tylenol or something ! We
eventually made our way to the register to check out, me and my bump on the head, and then headed outside in the rain to load it all in the motor home. We really didn’t have any plans for the day except to pick up the three musketeers at the airport and find somewhere to stay for the night. Tim had found us this really nice Camping Resort so we hit the road and headed over to a little town called Scarborough, Maine. Magellan takes us right to Bayley’s Camping Resort and man was it nice ! I knew as soon as I saw the entryway that this place was going to be first class. It is by far the nicest camping facility we’ve ever stayed at, it is a campers heaven ! It has a total of 715 campsites, three lakes, a restaurant, three swimming pools, a laundry mat, a miniature golf course and tons of other amenities, anything that you could imagine at a campground. We ended up in a spot right in front of one of the lakes and it was just gorgeous. We weren’t there long before Tim and Jon had to take me up to
the laundry mat so I could finally get all the laundry caught up. They drove me up to the door and helped me unload everything and then they made their way back down to the site. Two hours later they picked me up and we headed down the road to Ken’s Seafood Place for dinner. A new friend of mine from the laundry mat suggested it and said it was awesome. I was excited and a little leery at the same time. She told me that I had to try the lobster roll cause Ken’s were the best in town. Although I had already had my heart set on a lobster tail, I decided to try the lobster roll instead. Well, I should have stuck with what I know because that lobster roll was disgusting !! Who in the world puts mayonnaise on lobster ? Yuck ! Oh well, there’s a first time for everything and a last too ! Tim, Jon and I sat at Ken’s for over an hour eating and talking and passing the time by. I won’t get into details but we had some interesting conversations and then we made our way on over to South
Portland. We still had about an hour and a half before we had to pick up Lynn, Jason and Heidi so we rode around in the rain and explored the town. It was a cute little nautical lookin’ place but it was late, raining and everything was closed so we couldn’t really do anything. We decided we would head on over towards the airport and find somewhere to park. The three of us sat on the side of the road near the airport parking lot and talked until we received word that they were on the ground. First, Heidi sent a text and then Lynn called on the phone, I’m pretty sure that we were all as equally anxious and excited to see each other. We made our way over to the Delta terminal and just as we turned the corner we saw Jason’s face. I stuck my head out the window and started yelling for them like some crazy mad woman and I feel quite certain that they were embarrassed but I was just so excited I couldn’t help myself ! They were finally here, safe and sound ! Tim and Jon quickly helped them load up all their
luggage and we were off to Bayley’s. Once we arrived at our home for the night, Tim got us all hooked up and then he came inside to go over all the rules and regulations with the newbie’s. Jason has the attention span of a two year old so he missed half of the speech as well as the grand tour but I’m sure it won’t take long for him to catch up ! Heidi heated her some dinner in the microwave as Lynn and I went for a stroll down by the lake and Jon headed up the hill for a long hot shower. We were all finally together and Tim and I couldn’t be happier ! Somehow we all got settled into our beds for the night and everyone was fast asleep. I’m so excited about all the memories we’ll be making together over the next week or so and can’t wait to get started tomorrow. Of course, I’m praying for no more water leaks and definitely no more falling mirrors !! Take care and good night.
