Freeway Crossing
Just keep walking... don't look down. Day 27 - Grand Island to Elkhart
We were awoken by the lovely sounds of a storm this morning. It was a good thing we didn't have plans for the morning. We slept in and relaxed while we waited to hear news of the car repairs. By 1PM we were once again on the road and headed towards Elkhart IL. On the way we stopped at a massive service center that spanned the whole Interstate. There were gas stations on both the eastbound and westbound sides of the freeway and pedestrian bridges to a food court on the island between them. Tony's got two shoulders for people to lean on. out Elkhart is 106 miles from Chicago. Will Baumann, one of Tony's friends from High School lives in Elkhart and we planned to have dinner with him and his Fiancee, Jessica. They let us stay in their driveway too. We had a great time talking with them and Tony was able to arm Jessica with a few embarrassing stories about Will. Jessica also gave Michelle an afghan that she made. It's become Michelle's favorite blanket since then. She keeps moving it from the car to her bunk and everywhere she sleeps.
