Finally - Back on the Road ...And it feels so good. We finally left Saturday, November 8th after finally receiving a part for Jerry's scooter. We were expecting it Tuesday and since we had to stay to vote anyway, thought that would work out to leave by Thursday. Oh well, we're on the road now and that's what counts. The part arrived at 1:05 and we were already on the road at 1:40pm (we were mo... Read Full Entry

Happy Times
Monday, Nov. 17 Hi Jerry and Rita. So glad to hear from you and get an update on where you are. And now reading of your travels, I find out you are in the "backyard" of where I spent my childhood. I grew up in Morris, Illinois - and lived there until age 18 when I went off to college - so have many fond memories of Illinois - and the places you mentioned. We got home from Orlando on Saturday (15) - after a wonderful 12 days down south in the warm weather. Picked up a cold on Saturday - possibly from the enclosed air on the airplane - but who knows????

End of e-mail
Hi Jerry and Rita, I just sent you a note a few minutes ago - and accidentally hit a key which sent it off to you before I was finished. So am just signing on again - to say "good bye" - and have a great trip. Hope that makes sense. Love, Jan

And they're off...
OK...we've been anixously waiting the first posting and once again you've outdone yourself. I'm embarrassed to say I haven't been to and didn't know some of these sites existed in Illinois. Can't wait to see more and look forward to your visit on the return trip! Be safe! Love, Bryan and Vickie P.S. If you have time look up a place called Inscription Rock just west of Albuquerque. Very cool place!

Makes perfect sense
Glad to hear you had a safe trip Jan. Hope your cold gets better soon. Illinois has a lot to see relative to Route 66. We spent a lot more time in Illinois than we had expected but it was great. Our biggest dilemma is taking enough time to get pictures done and post. Oh well. Take care! Love back. Rita and Jerry

Inscription Rock
Hi Vickie!! Wish we could do a better job of keeping up on posting this trip but oh well. That's just the way it goes. We didn't see anything for Inscription Rock so I looked it up since we're in Albuquerque now...We did see the postings for El Morro National Monument (same thing) but since it was a 42 mile side trip which would require another 42 miles back, we did not take that one. We're having enough trouble with time with just the things in route. Wish we could see everything but even when you have time like we do right now, there's just not enough time!!! We'll be in touch on the return trip. We'll keep trying to get to posting more. Rita
