Waking up to smiling faces and unlimited hugs are one of my favorite reasons why I love to travel with these children. The kids truly do exemplify the fruits of the spirit and it is so magnetic. Not only are they extremely well behaved but very genuine and loving. When you jump aboard the Asante Bus you become what is called an "Auntie" or "Uncle". Which means basically a Parent to these 22 children. Every couple nights we stay in Host homes which means people within the congregation of the churches we are performing at will put together a group of families that will house us for the few nights we are in the area. So these kids may be with a little over 100 different families before they head home. It is one of their favorite experiences on tour because they get to see all the different family dynamics, houses, cars, and careers the family members work. It is always quite the adventure walking into a new home every couple nights. We have been so blessed by many people and I am so grateful and thankful for each and every family who have helped us out in this area of
tour. We wouldn't be able to travel if it wasn't for them opening up not only their homes but their hearts to us as well. 😊 So back to being an Auntie, you have to make sure the kids you're going with in the host home get to bed on time, wake up on time, get laundry taken care of, food every day, Daily Devotions, Make sure their doing well in school and staying healthy. Yes we are teaching homeschool while on the road too so all of us chaperones step up and play a role in that as well. There are 8 of us chaperones who are the Aunties and Uncles to Choir 7. Their trials become our trials and their joy becomes our joy. We as chaperones get to experience a lot of the children's firsts like first time flying on airplanes, first time seeing snow, first time eating a hamburger or pizza, first time seeing a dish washer or even a washing machine. These kids do everything by hand back home so they become amazed at the machines we have in our homes here in the states. It is such a beautiful experience to be a part
of and that is why I am so grateful and thankful for the path God has put me on. I thank Him each and everyday for giving me this opportunity.
I am extremely thankful for all the other chaperones who jump onboard the Asante Bus. We become such a great family full of love, laughter and sometimes some craziness haha but what do you expect living on a tour bus with 30 people for 10 months 😊.Most of the African chaperones are the ones who actually live with these children back home in Uganda. They are the ones who bring them up in the Spirit of the Lord, who work with them in becoming the beautiful people God has created them to be. Apart from God, these kids are they way they are because of the love and dedication of the African chaperones 😊 You may or may not have children who have inherited your eyes or ears but you can help others develop eyes to see God and ears to hear the gospel.
Since my last post, We have been to Chicago, IL and are now currently in the Milwaukee, WI area. We have about 10 more
states to go!! 😊
