1. According to this article, how is modern slavery different from earlier forms of slavery throughout history?

For one thing, modern slavery is illegal. And it isn't considered slavery to some, but at the same time it is slavery because it takes people against their will and forces them into labor.

2. Why does this movement against human sex trafficking connect to the legacy of President Lincoln?

Because this movement is taking place during the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation. Also, Lincoln is the president who freed the slaves, and this is considered modern day slavery.

3. Describe the Polaris project. What do you think about this project?

The Polaris Project is an anti-trafficking organization with a 24 hour hotline for people who suspect or are victims of sex trafficking. I think it's a good organization because they're doing things to stop the problem rather than just talking about it.

4. Do you agree with this article – that human sex trafficking is a form of modern day slavery?

I do agree, because slavery takes human beings and forces them to work against their will. Also, both are dehumanizing.

5. In your opinion, can you think of any other examples of modern day slavery?

n/a
