1. Books are banned in high schools in order to protect children. The government bans books that it thinks are offensive or disagreeable. Some of the books that are banned include books in categories of sex, profanity, and racism.

2. Although I would not recommend for students to read books on topics like sex, profanity, and racism, I believe that an individual should obtain the right to read books of his or her choice.

3. I do not agree that the government should limit what an individual can or cannot read. However, I think it is up to an individual and his or her parents to decide what to read. In other words, the government should not have control over what people can read.

4.I think parents, the school, and the government pressure teachers on what they can or cannot teach.

5.If one wanted to fight against book censorship, then he or she can join a group committed to preserving the right to read. One of the groups includes the Freedom to Read Foundation(www.ftrf.org).
