Up early to head into LAX. The place understandably is enormous and we were travelling American Airlines. Its affiliated with the Qantas program which was a plus and enabled us to all check in as Priority given my current Gold Status. Priority extended to security screening and given the size of the queues here it was good to skip all of that nonsense. Lisa of course didnt care about any of that other than the extra weight limit that was allowed! We headed into the Qantas club lounge which had a kids playroom so of course the kids think now this is what you get everytime you travel.

The flight was 5 and a half hours which was made a lot longer without in-flight entertainment in the back of the seats. Instead there were those big clunker tv's hanging from the ceiling which anyone over 6 foot 2 inches are destined to bang their heads on. To top things off the film was not kid friendly so we needed to occupy them for this time. They did very well actually. Lola and Greta shared an Ipad and watched some movies and then played some games whilst Lisa grabbed the other

Ipad leaving Madi and I sharing the lap top. Lisa and Madi are engrossed in the Once Upon a Time TV series and are effectively racing each other to the final episode. With the new Ben Folds Five album being emailed to me overnight the American Airlines lounge allowed me wireless access to download the album and install into itunes. This new album occupied a large percentage of my time on the flight.

Ariving into Honolulu it was an $80 fare to the hotel which is extremely impressive. There is a tie in with Disney here which has some characters running around but in the whole this is a distraction. It includes numerous pools, a tube slide and a water slide which is in complete darkness, a lazy river and also its own man made coral reef which is filled wiht over 5000 fish. You are allowed to snorkel over the top of it. Very cool and Greta even got over her inital fears (one being Sharks because her two older sisters said there was sharks in there!).

So the afternoon was spent using the pools and facilities and also staring at the beach over a cocktail from

the pool lounges. A late start to dinner meant that the restaruants were booked solid so we needed to order room service. Lola and Greta were asleep before it arrived!
