Another overcast day in Tampa so we looked for indoor entertainment. Back to downtown Tampa, we found the Henry B.Plant Museum/1891 Tampa Bay Hotel/University of Tampa. What a magnificent place. I just love these old mega mansions....I am awestruck. Henry Plant was an extremely wealthy entrepreneur who created the Plant railroad & shipping system which brought him to build the Tampa Bay Hotel in 1891. What an experience it must have been to stay here as a guest. Presently, one side of this grand hotel is preserved as the museum. The other side, as well as many newer surrounding buildings, is the campus for the University of Tampa. What an unbelievable place to go to school. It is so rich in history. Moving on, we headed to the riverside section of Tampa. Yipppeee - another trolley to hop aboard. Everything is beginning to look familiar....this trolley followed the same route we took yesterday back into Ybor City. No matter, it is still fun. I could ride it all day even if it went in circles. We ate lunch at a busy hockey sports bar, Hattricks, in downtown. Time to finally bid this area adieu...where to go now? When in doubt...go back to the casino. Another satisfying experience. We ended the moment doing "people watching" at the Lobby Bar. We must have seen over a 1,000 people pass by. Whoa....who is this big guy posing with Cory. Be still my eyes....it's Honest Abe Lincoln: only at the Hardrock!
Our RV was worked on today. Yeah! More primer coat and other prep work was done. The door handle/latch was put on. BUT...that's it for now. No work is done on the weekend so we are just in a holding pattern until Monday (shades of Red Bay). Tropical Palms is becoming a faint memory....an oasis on the horizon. We aren't bored. We have filled up our dance card with no problem. Not sure what our weekend activities will include but it surely will be entertaining as there is much to do in this area. "Don't Cry For Us, Argentina" keeps playing on the radio. Is this our newest Happy Tune we are to sing? I like "Don't Worry, Be Happy" better.
