on the internet, serious stuff... I am in Miami and I wish I could say I spent the day getting a tan on the beach over this "spring break," however I am outside listening to the rain fall and watching the sky grow a little darker.
Liber and I left LA yesterday and since we did not have a ride and I did not want to leave my car at the airport, we opted for the bus which actually picks up from PCH and Calle Mayor for $1.25 each and takes you right to LAX. We were hoping to make the 2:05 flight to Las Vegas, spend the day and then red eye it to Miami. Thank God it was last minute and stand by because the fact we missed that flight is really ok. On PCH around Emerald, the bus picked up a homeless woman in a wheelchair, the driver spent a solid 5 minutes strapping her all in and securing her down while breaking a sweat. Mr. bus driver asked said woman where she wanted to get off... "I don't know!" Ummm ok... He sits down and we start to go. The woman says to me:
"May I ask you something? When did

me, not so serious... that start?"
me: What?
"The thickness on your leg?"
me: ummm (how can she tell, my legs are up, she is pointing to THAT leg, I have baggy jeans on and sneakers... I am totally covered and I can not even see the thickness in my legs...) What do you mean?
"Your leg, what happened? How long ago? Where were you working? You see, I am a therapist, I want to help you!"
me: (she may have once been a therapist or she may be a little crazy, she is dirty, has no teeth, homeless and carrying her life on her chair, HOW IS SHE BRINGING UP MY LEG?, she did not say a word to anyone else... just me about MY leg!?)
Ummm it started about 8 years ago, I am not sure how. Work, hmm, I had a few jobs, definitely in a restaurant...
"What kind of restaurant? I need to know!"
me: (this is kinda freaking me out as I had tried to pretend there was no way she really knew there was something with my leg) I was working in an Italian restaurant at the time...
"Have you

Liber loves this one and I have no idea what was so darn funny. been to a vitamin store? You need to go, please go... BUS DRIVER HERE IS WHERE I NEED TO GO!"
bus driver: "Here, are you kidding me?!"
*it was the next stop, yes that whole thing was in like 2 minutes*
bus driver sighs, pulls over, comes to her chair and goes through the 5 minutes to undo her. As he is wheeling her backwards out of the bus...
"one more thing sweety, one more thing you must do... massage! Good luck!"
out she went, she was gone... what on earth was that about? someone please tell me... I rode like 3 blocks with her and that happened? wow!
Ok so we continued, needless to say we got in to the terminal and he said the gates are closed, we missed our flight to Vegas, next would be 9pm. Rather than stay at LAX all day they booked us to Phoenix at 4. From Phoenix we waited and got on to Vegas (my stomach was queazy from all the travels). We had dinner at the good old Vegas airport and used the free internet and just talked and took silly photos. When midnight

trying to see into the sun in the ragtop bug rolled around, they told us there was nearly no chance to get on that flight to Miami. It is Spring break and the flights are packed... We started discussing our sleep in the airport action plan, a moment later they called our names... we got on!
We arrived in Miami at close to 8am and saw part of the sunrise from the airplane window. The take off from Las Vegas was awful and I am so thankful that the seat next to Liber stayed open so we sat together. I nearly broke his hand. There were about 10 other seats open. We drove on the employee shuttle all over Miami airport searching for Liber's bug, under a cover but since he parked it over a week ago, he forgot where. Luckily we got off at the right spot and found it right away. The little rag top was open, there are no seat belts and no door locks... I am officially a hippy. We got to his place and immediately tried to go to sleep. I was hyper, perhaps delirious and he was probably praying that I would shut up and stop acting like a 5 year old. I

i finally got the butterfly when it landed was laughing in hysterics and I have no idea why... We finally fell asleep about 9:30 or 10 and we got up about 2.
As I said before the weather is nothing close to what I had envisioned however I can hope for tomorrow to bring some sunshine. I really want to go in warm water and see my feet! Something you can't do in LA. lol I am only here for a couple days and am also hoping to help him organize his new place a little. We went out and got him sheets and a couple things today for it. We are currently doing laundry at his moms place while waiting for her to get home. She is hopefully making us some homecooked Cubano cuisine and I am looking forward to it. (oh ya, on our way here, since the ragtop was open, we were driving in the rain. Liber closed it just in time for the downpour and the double rainbow out my passenger side window. good times. Now we both have afros!) 😊 Photos to come later.
Peace and Love (hippies)

UPDATE:
My whole trip has come to an end, but I

in th ebug realized I did not update the Miami part. 😊 We had a nice dinner at his moms place that night, not cuban food but a salad and pasta. We hung out for a little while and then headed home. The next day Liber ran some errands and when he got home he drove me to Miami Beach. We parked at his friend Cesar's apartment a few blocks from the beach and we walked down. The water is such an amazing aqua blue, I could stare at it all day. Winds were really high that day and the lifeguards were on their toes not allowing many to swim too far. The rip tides were rough, the current was strong and therefore the conditions were not ideal. We stayed for a couple of hours, swam a little, relaxed and then walked along the beach streets to share a bit of sushi. There is a lot of energy in that area and many tourists. We visited Cesar and his puppy for a while before heading home where we showered and then went to have some real cuban food at Chico's. Liber ordered a TON of food, the table was full, we ate everything

driving to the beach on the table! lol Seriously, we were sick later and after stopping by his friends studio to listen to the band practice, we went home and slept like babies.
The next day Liber was busy most of the day moving things from storage, so we were not able to go to the beach again. We did go to dinner with his friend Camilho at a local cuban fast food type of place (hard to explain) where we had rice, beans, yucca and chicken. Liber ordered me a papaya smoothie to top it off. Our dinner once again was super yummy and filling. Jenny Craig would not be too happy. A couple hours later we went for a walk as we felt so ill and bloated, I do not know how much it helped, but it was better than nothing.
On Wednesday I left, Liber picked me up during his work break and took me to the train which I took to Ft. lauderdale and then flew to Pittsburgh.
I hope I can get to Miami again soon and perhaps we can spend more time at the beach. WOO HOO!
