Bienvenidos a Miami! Welcome to Miami!
Well after a long travel adventure with the airlines yesterday - I am glad to be here in Miami and attend the NCLR conference! (Yes, my luggage finally arrived.)
Today is the first day of the conference, and it started with a series of workshops. Rebecca Valdez, Josephine Ramos, Chris Rodgers, and John Pierce (all from Omaha) presented a workshop on the Black-Brown Coalition, a grassroots initiative in Omaha.
The series of workshops were followed by a Luncheon honoring affiliate members of NCLR.
The Latino Expo area opened today as well. There are a number of exhibitors with a variety of resources available to help community organizers, advocates, and agencies to improve the life of Latinos in our neighborhoods, cities, states, and our country.
We'll keep you posted on the latest events here from NCLR 2007!
