Left 4.00am from Memphis and drove to airport - car rental place shut so left the car and hoped for the best.

Uber from the airport - driver from Cuba said ocean is cold - he’s clearly never been to Bridlington!

Stayed at Hotel Pelican on Ocean Drive friendly place with 2 free mojitos every day between 4&6 - we managed to take advantage of this before hitting the beach each day
Evenings were generally spent pottering around getting our bearings and checking out the various bars and hotels as they lit up at night

Plenty of art deco in the area so we downloaded a free walking tour - definitely worth doing as it covers about 10 buildings but there are so many others on the way - check out the Tiffany building, Essex building and Versace’s Villa, where he was shot - now a hotel.

Managed to hit the beach a few times as it was across the road - lifeguard huts look great as they are all differently designed and very bright colours.

Thursday saw us getting up so sue could take pics of the sunrise - not a brilliant sunrise but let’s see what she comes up with - back for breakfast then off to Wynwood walls - great murals then a cab to Little Havana to the Versailles restaurant - great place full of both locals and tourists and it defiantly lived up to its reputation

Final day was a tad lazy with a late breakfast followed by throwing away my trusty case and filling the backpack I had been carrying around in preparation for the South American leg of our journey.

Then off to the Perez art museum to keep cool ahead of flying out with Avianca Airline that evening to Rio

Football exhibition following the World Cup including the ‘hand of god’ and pics of Bobby Charlton plus a photography exhibition for sue about Sid Grossman (he co founded the ‘Photo League’ which was blacklisted as part of the communist witchhunt under McCarthy).

Thoroughly enjoyed North America with the highlights probably bring Tofino, Vancouver City, Foster City (chill) and Nashville/Memphis plus spending time with Dave, Seamus and Steve as we travelled.

South America beckons so off we go for an overnight flight via Bogotá
