Thursday 28th of June We woke up refreshed havering accomplished nothing the previous day. Michaels illness was rendering us housebound. It seems strange spending so long with someone every minute of every day we knew every detail about each other and all new experiences were being had at the same time. When your with them you either have the best time possible or you argue. But without them you feel lost vonerable alown and naked like loosing a mobile phone. Most of the time arguments are petty, generally for a constant grateing of habits that you don't agree with. So far we have had no friendship sinkers. But a few we've had to leave and apologise for later. I had to explain to Michael his illness was not a common cold or flue he was dehydrated. I had being watching the volume of liquid he had been consuming and it was not enough. The reasoning behind this was that if the water was warm he wouldn't drink it, because he didnt like it. Or if it was cold he would just sip it because it was to cold and he could drink it quickly, because he would get brain freeze. Awe. I had to explain he was sweating way more than at home. He had told me other clear symptoms that I knew were because of dehydration. Anyway I had been telling him for days just to start gulping back more water and stop being a wuss with the temperature. It was only after he checked his symptoms online did he truely believe he was dehydrated. What would that boy do without the Internet I don't no! Today was something I'd bin looking forward to for ages. We were going to go to south point. The southern most point of the USA. We walked all the way roughly 2.6 miles, a healthy walk I thought. We stopped on the way for Michael to have breakfast. I was finally getting to look round key west and was enjoying every moment. The warm sun and light breeze, talking in the culture and my surroundings it was a truely beautiful place. I understood that its not really what Michael likes to do and it may have been hot for him. But the whole time he was in a rush to get round and back to the hotel to once again do nothing. When we finally arrived at south point there was a que to take a picture with it. Michael didn't want to wait in the que and just wanted to talk a picture from over the crowd and leave. I was irritated by this and made us wait. The que in the end took 15minutes. After getting the photos we started walking back. This I think would be the moment we would have the largest argument of our trip. I said "That was great wasn't it, to think we at that moment where the two most southern people in whole of the USA." Something I thought was a massive pin point in our trip. Michael responded with a shoulder shrug and a mumbled "It was alright." I then said, "why can't you appreciate things like this for once," "it was the same in New York and Washington DC." Both places he'd bin before, but it was like the whole experience of the holiday was going to pass him by like a shoulder shrug. Michael didn't take kindly to my comment he responded with, "you get excited about a squirrel or a tree" saying I always say its the best tree or the most amazing pudding I've ever eaten. Well this clear sarcasm got right under my skin. Because he had said this to take the piss several times along the holiday. To clear things up I do like the little things, those small details that make a good day great. I'm sure you've noticed in our writing our different takes on what happens in a day. I apologise if sometimes I ramble on in to much detail but it does interest me and when I read this back the little details will matter. Anyway a shouting match started meaning we would end up walking separately. On the way back we went to TGI's where i apologised for some things that were said over a meal and ice water we definitely need for both of us an empty stomach can cause us to be less tolerant than usual. We both waddled back to the hotel like penguins completly stuffed. Once again best friends ready to continue our adventure. I believe sometimes it's good let it rip to get your feeling out in the open it prevents a unspoken resentment of the other person developing. After such eventful day it was time for the night, this would be our last night out in key west. Unfortunately it was a thursday so it wouldn't be as good as a weekend but we hoped it would still provide some laughter and antics as usual. Before we went out promised Michael I wouldn't get myself in a state again and I would be more careful. For this reason I ate way more than usual and ended up being sick during the pre-drinking to many crisp butties. As usual Michael got it all on camera. We finished off our vodka and ordered a taxi to take us into town. The taxi driver arrived a large balding white man. Leaned out the window and said "Oh sorry don't pick up white guys in this area." He then said he was joking and get in. We thought this was funny and got in the cab. His humour continued throughout the journey. It went from a light hearted comments like that to pure racism. His jokes were not funny but more something that should be found on sikopedia, that makes you wince and cringe. Before we left the taxi he offered us to buy some marijuana. What an idiot. We decided to go briefly into Fat Tuesdays to get our drinks but on our last night we would try some different bars. We found one place that was really nice. Lots of space for sitting, chatting and drinking and a large dance area with good air conditioning. Loads of outdoor space with large bars, plenty of staff and food available. We stayed there drinking most of the night however town was dead very few people to talk to and socialise with. We headed down the road which was mixed with gay and straight bars. On our dead night in atlantic city we ended up in a gay bar got hammered and had a great night but even the gay bars were dead. So we got a taxi back order and pizza delivery and went to sleep. For a quiet night we both had a nice time together after a hot headed day. Rich
