Southern Dreams
this is the sailboat that passed us today We left Titusville and motored south into the wind. The ICW was fairly choppy and the waves even splashed onto our front windows. We stopped at Dragon Point as planned and had a quiet evening.
Today we still had south winds. Both days we saw lots of sailboats taking advantage of those south/southeast winds by heading north with filled sails. The wind became more easterly and we saw sailboats sailing in both directions. We always claimed to have a slow boat, but today we were actually passed by a sailboat.
Late this afternoon we tied up at Ft. Pierce City Marina where we were visited by Kerry’s nephews, Jim and Jon. We had a great time talking and laughing and ate dinner together at the Tiki restaurant on the dock. It was sure great to see them and spend some time with them.
Tomorrow we head out early as we found out our first lock on the St. Lucie Canal only opens at 7am, 1pm and 7pm, so we have to make 30 miles by one o’clock.
More later…
