As you can see, this pass is on the Continental Divide at over 11,000 feet.
Both got haircuts today - boy, there’s a leap of faith! Just never know what a new hair stylist will do. Good news, if you don’t like the haircut, just wait until it grows out and you can try it all over again! Eric, the hair stylist, told us he lived in Fairplay - also the home of South Park. So, after our haircuts, we thought we’d drive down there for lunch. We were going to go to South Park, which is the setting for the totally irreverent TV show “South Park” on Comedy Central - you know, Kyle, Cartman, Stan, and Kenny…………. If you’ve never seen the show, you wouldn’t understand…….

Anyway, when we got to Hoosier Pass, Alan kinda got the willies driving - we were over 11,000 feet, the road had hairpin turns, some areas didn’t have guardrails, and most importantly, we didn’t have a map with us showing how far South Park actually was (not too smart, huh?) It turns out it was about 25 miles from Breckenridge, but it was probably a good thing we turned around. That afternoon, some huge thunderstorms rolled in and it wouldn’t have been fun driving back over the Pass

Stunning views, but a tad creepy if you have vertigo and thunderstorms are building!
again with the bad weather. So, we returned to Breckenridge and had lunch on the rooftop patio of the Horseshoe Saloon.
