On the last day, we went for a short ride through the canyon, aptly named 'The Canyon Ride'. It was seriously hot but I LOVE the heat, it was about 31 degrees and really dry. We rode through the most beautiful landscape, going up and down slopes. It was so quiet and still, we did a loop back to the ranch.

Roping - well this was a massive highlight! The majority of the group went indoors to do Natural Horsemanship and it was just Julia and I that went outdoors to learn roping. Matt was driving the quad and towed a mechanical bull/ steer. When the quad moves, the bull moves too, as if it is cantering along. We then had to trot after it and get the loop over the bulls head -it was actually really difficult! The rope is quite stiff and so you have to carry it and swing it a very particular way, get it slightly wrong and you get the rope in a muddle! I loved doing this and have a new admiration for the cowboys who do it cantering along on a real bull/ steer. Brilliant fun 😊
