San fran
San fran So after the late night last night we all surfaced about 10.30am and i asked Kerri if i could get some washing done and she does not have a washer in her apartment and it is like most american apartment blocks the is a laundry room, but in Kerri's case one per floor and she had only recently found this out as she had being a laundry matt down the street......lol.
So it was pouring with rain outside which is always a good sign for getting soaked and having fun trying to sightsee and take pictures, Kerri made pancakes with maple syrup yum and then she showered and i showered and we were eventually ready by about 12 noon and we headed out and i had decided to stick my waterproofs on to be on the safe side and it was a good idea as it virtually rained all day.
We headed to downtown and past various shops and saw the trolley cars and buses and we then got on the cable car and like a Japenes tourist i went snap happy.....lol, Kerri treated me and bought a 3 day transit pass which is good for the cable, trolley and
San fran
San fran trolley bus and busses.
We sat on the outside of the cable car and took piccys and got wet, but all good fun and then we then got down to the harbour and i took pictures of the historic boats and Alctraz and of the Golden Gate. We then headed off to get a bite to eat and stopped at the cannery which was a del monte canning plant and now turned into a retial/eatrie plazza. We went to jacks Bar an irish pub and has some of the local larger Anchor, the bar had quite alot of beers on draught and i also found out why i have not seen caffereys for years cause they stopped making it.
We had a bite to eat, i had a veggis burger and chips and kerri had steak and chips, again Kerri paid and we then went over to the Famous Ghiradelli's, that famous i have never heard of it.....lol, so we headed there and the main shop and factory were closed for a refurb and so we walked further and in the courtyard was a wine shop with tastings and so we went in and tasted about 10 different
San fran
San fran wines and had most of the crackers they had put out, it was fun and the two guys in there one was english and he was funny and the other Irish and in the end Kerri joinde theri wine club and bought two bottles at $20 each.
We wondered over to the temp shop for Ghiradelli's and had a free sample of chocolate and it was nice chocolate and i then bought us both an ice cream and Kerri had mint choc chip and i had chocolate.
We then headed to the bus stop to get over to the Golden gate, it meant two busses and your not suppose to eat on the bus and so we opened a map and disguised our eating...lol, we then got off at the place of fine arts and exploretrium and the place has featured in flims and Kerri nipped to the restrooms at the exploretrium and we then walked towards the bay and the next bus, but we could not find the stop and later found this bus is hit or miss and not regular and so i think Kerri needs to brush up on her tour guiding...hehe
We then
San fran
San fran carried on walking and chatting and taking pics and it was dark when we got to the bridge and rather than walking it we decided it could do tomorrow and we caught a bus to the golden gate park and then another bus through Haight which is were the hippes use to hang out and were Janis Joplin lived and the Greatful dead and Pass the Amigo music store and we then got off in downtown and Kerri looked for a didgital photo frame for her mum and to look at portable harddrives, we got out just before the store closed and i was tempted to buy a laptop as it was $522.
We headed back to Kerris apartment and we stopped and bought beer and we went halfs on the cost and we headed to kerri's and she made garlic bread and some nice pasta and we had beer and watched some Monty Python and i feel asleep watching Monty...lol. Tomorrow we plan to hit Golden gate and Alctraz.
