Hi Everyone,
Welcome to Daniel & Janice's Travel Blog!!
Over the next ten months we will be using this blog to keep you up-to-date with our whereabouts, adventures and general musings and observations as we travel across the globe.
As many of you know, Janice and I have longed for the opportunity to take to the open road / skies / sea for many years and after about ten very exciting, challenging and rewarding years in the Insurance and Software industries (respectively) we now have the opportunity to live the dream!
We are now in the final stages of preparing for the holiday of a lifetime - Janice celebrated her last day at work on Thursday this week, my last day is coming up this Friday and then we have about 5 days to wrap things up before we head off to Hawaii for a family wedding and a few days of relaxation on Kauai before departing on the REAL adventure.
In the next two weeks we have so much to do it's feeling a little overwhelming - we still have to finalize the lease of our car (Audi A4 Convertible if you know of anyone), find a tenant for our condo and pack up our stuff and put it in storage for the period we're away (in addition there's tax, vaccinations, etc, etc).
Once we get back from Hawaii we will be heading to Ecuador for a five day cruise around the Galapagos Islands (where Darwin developed his theory of evolution) followed by a few days in Quito. Then we head off to Peru where we will be exploring the ancient mysteries of the Nazca lines, visiting a traditional village in the reed islands of Lake Titicaca, hiking the 4 day (40km; ascent from 8,000 to 13,769 feet) Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and visiting the forests of Amazon.
We look forward to having you accompany us (at least virtually) on this amazing adventure!!
Talk to you next from Ecuador!!
Dan & Janice

Good Luck...
Hey guys - well you must be two of the luckiest people on the planet right now... congrats and I can't wait to hear of you 'wacky' adventures. Now don't be doing anything silly - I don't fancy visiting you both in a Bangkok Hilton type prison... :) Seriously though - Good Luck Craig.
