Lake Tahoe
Captain and his sailboat. While all of you were having your Labor Day picnics, we thought we would enjoy our Labor Day at Lake Tahoe. Maybe not the best idea in the world, since Labor Day marks the end of the summer and everyone tries to have one last weekend on the water! We had a diffucult time finding a hotel, but we managed and ended up staying right across the street from the water. Our drive from Yosemite was quite mountainous and Tim had a great time driving the FJ through all of the windy roads. When we thought it would never end, when we reached the last summit we looked down and saw this magnificent lake. The lake is surrouned by mountains, some of which still had snow on them. Our first snow sighting on our expedition. It is also crystal blue, with beautiful rocks surrounding it. We decided to take a sailboat ride to relax a little. We also did some kayaking and swimming in the lake. The water was a bit cold, but tolerable. It had been a while since we had been in some water, so we enjoyed every minute!
