Today we got an early start up to the Grand Canyon. We arrived there about 8:30 am just ahead of all the tourist buses . But, they caught up to us around 10:00.

We walked the south rim for the first 2.5 miles and then started getting on the shuttle buses that arrive every 15 minutes from any point. It was very hot. Then rangers were warning everyone to drink a lot of water and stay in the shade as much as possible. The canyon is amazing. What a wonder of nature. Can't imagine how it would have felt just coming upon it on your pioneering way out west. Breathtaking! Would love to come back and just camp there for a week to take it all in. Maybe someday.

I heard more languages being spoken everywhere. Way more than English. People from all over the world come to view the canyon.
The Skywalk is actually not a part of the National Park. It is on the West side and about 250 miles driving distance away. We can get there from Kingman, AZ. Have not decided if we will go there or not. I guess you’ll find out in a few days.

It was an exhausting day and we are ready to settle in for the evening and get a fresh start down 66 tomorrow.
See ya,
