Living The High Life In Phoenix

So i woke to go to the bathroom in the early hours and early got licked to death by Deb's dog Lucy, shes a friendly dog and loves attention, however it was a litte late in the day for me....lol.

I got up eventually at 9.30ish -10ish am and Deb made me bagels for lunch and we chatted and i got my stuff together and said goodbye to Rob and we then headed towards flagstaff and we stopped and i attempted to make a snowman and then we had a brief snowball fight which was cool.

We then headed over to Flagstaff and Deb stopped for gas (petrol) and got us both drinks, the drive to Phoenix was intresting as it went from snow and trees to a hike in temperature and cactus and brush and epic moutains that look right out of the 3.10 to yuma etc.

I needed to stop for a pee break and so Deb pulled into a gas station and she got some snacks for eating on the way down, which was great of her, we carried on heading to Phoenix and apparetly cactus take 100's of years to go, we got to phoeix late afternoon and Deb got us booked into the Embassy hotel which is part of the Hilton grop and a nice hote, Deb paid for her's and my room and i offered to pay, but she wouldnt have it. Deb phoned her friend Cliff to meet up and go for a Chinese.

I grabbed my stuff and took it to my room which was in the next block, me and Deb felt hungry and Cliff was not due round for a while and so Deb got us some hoel food and again i offered to pay but she wouldnt hear of it. Earlier in the day i kept up my host tradition and gave Deb a hat and my new never used New York Lonely Planet guide, but it did not feel like i had givern Deb anything as she has been so generous.

The hotel had a free bar for two hours so i went and had 4 strawberry darquis while Deb waited on Cliff coming, strawberry darquis are nice, although the first one gave me a head freeze....lol. Then Deb came and got me before i sank anymore and we followed Cliff to the Chinese pace and intially he got lost and we got there eventually and i then met Cliff, Wendy his girlfriend and his daughter Stephanie and we had chinese buffet and i did not have much as i was stuffed from the drinks and food earlier. We eat and chatted a while and then Deb paid again, i offered again to pay, but Deb wouldnt hear of it, she realy is a star😊

We said our goodbyes and then headed back to the hotel, tomorrow is a couchsurfers potluck meal meeting which should be cool and then i should meet my next host Larry and i will be on Larrys couch tomorrow night and so thats the end of the high life and back to the backpacker life....lol.

Deb decided she wanted a darqui and so we both had a darqui, Deb goes back to Tusayan (next to the Grand Canyon) on Monday, it was great hanging out with Deb and i wish her well and i think her future couchsurfers will have a great time.
