I'm up pretty early each day. Ken makes my coffee while I work in my pjs. It's quiet here and it's nice to have that...a great working environment.
I did have Doctors appointments:
Dentist- all is good. Dermatologist: 5 places were zapped with liquid nitrogen! One place (above my lip) has turned bright red; it looks like a cherry red birth mark....nice! Eye Doctor: had to reschedule because I have new insurance but haven't received my cards yet. I have all of the information but when the office tried to call to verify, they were closed (they are Eastern time).
Monday night I made a great dinner. Monday night football-The Bengals, the Reds were playing too and Justen was off. I made a small homemade pizza appetizer, Grilled French Cut pork chops, Smashed cauliflower, twice baked potatoes...Yum!
Tuesday night we went to Chuy's for dinner and then watched 'Return to Me' with Minnie Driver.
Wednesday after work I had a massage with Annie and afterwards we met Ken, Bobbie, Henna, Uncle Don, Minnie and Jack for Happy Hour at The Lodge. Larry had other plans so he did not join us. The food was ok, not impressed at all. We took Uncle home and then went home. We watched the season opener of Dexter On Demand. We haven't had access to it with our travels.
Thursday after work I had a hair appointment. I haven't been to my girl 'Gina' since February. I did find a place in Atlanta and have had to go twice. It was so nice to have Gina do my hair. I have been going to her for 12 years. I called Henna and she and Larry were going to Red Lobster so we joined them. I don't really like chains and it expectantly was just ok.
Friday morning we did a few chores and I went grocery shopping. (Have I said how much I love the dry heat and blue skies?). After I got home, Jason and Amy arrived from Las Vegas. They are staying the weekend. Josh is coming from Phoenix too, so we will all be together (minus Lola 😞
I put on a boneless pork roast on with special sauce from Williams Sonoma. After it cooked all day, Amy and I shredded the pork. We also made a lemon pound cake. It was nice for Amy and I to spend time together chatting and cooking (and sipping on wine 😊
Jason and Ken had errands to run and just returned in time to head to Uncle Don's for Happy hour. Justen is working 😞 Josh is on his way. We took the shredded pork to Uncles.
At Uncles they (Henna, Larry, Minnie, Jack, Uncle Ron) planned a little birthday celebration for me. Bobbie and Annie had a previous dinner to got to, but dropped off a gift. In addition to our shredded pork, we had potato salad, cole slaw, broccoli salad, chips and cheesecake. Josh arrived at the end of the meal. I had presents to open. I always feel weird opening presents. I'm better at giving them than receiving them. It was a fun evening (ate too much!) As we drove home, the moon was rising above the mountains, beautiful. We sat outside on the backyard patio, talking. It's nice to have everyone home.
