Day Thirteen Phoenix to Flagstaff We reluctantly left the warmth of Phoenix where we could pick up lemons and oranges on our walks, and headed north, through Sun City, and on to Prescott and the mining town of Jerome. We are now on the Navajo rez...this trail leads to an overlook at the Little Colorado River canyon.

We headed back west, with strong winds but less dust and sand blowing. There are many small groups of homes/trailers on the reservation, and towns are few and far between. We saw school buses out late into the evening...kids must be on the bus for hours...
