Our next destination was to be Morelia, but there was no direct bus from Guanajuato to Morelia. Well, actually, there was, but it required leaving at 7 in the morning, and we had well and truly slipped into holiday mode, so stuff that for a joke. Using just a bit more of your noggin it's possible to simply catch a bus to León and grab a bus there to Morelia, and those buses went every hour. Given that the early bus went through León anyway, the exact reason you were unable to simply buy the ticket straight through from Guanajuato was unclear. And, in hindsight...is still unclear. Trying to add pics but none of these computers are allowing me. As soon as I can, I'll add a few. So before we start the teaching, there's still a little time during the weekend for some fun in Morelia. Spent the weekend at the tequila sunset hostel, which I would definitely recommend to anyone who plans on passing through. The guys who work there are great, you meet interesting people and it's close enoughto the city center. Thursday night met a girl who just happened to be from Dallas, strange coincidence. So she invited us to some random house party. Everyone was really nice and I was able to practice my drunken Spanish (which in my opinion was pretty good, so I think). Already a few weeks into the trip, so where to start... Getting to Mexico proved to be a little adventure itself. My flight from DFW to Houston was delayed almost 2 hours, so I missed my connection to D.F. and had to spend the night at some random hotel (that didn´t have a bar). Back to the airport for the trek to Mexico City. Might I suggest flying into Mexico on one of their airlines, as the beverages are complimentary. And I´m not talking about juice or soda. So while enjoying my first Corona of the trip, I struck up a conversation with the person sitting next to me. She was traveling to Oaxaca. It's been getting towards the end of term and as well as working out what sightseeing I still need to squeeze in I've been considering if there are any places I want to revisit before I leave Mexico. Lake Camecuaro was at the top of my list and it seemed like the perfect way to spend a relaxing Saturday after a busy week at school. The World Cup seems to have ensured the students are all hyper, and also has resulted in a few lessons being cancelled which in some cases is a relief and in others has me panicking how I'll get the students to the end of the courses with less class time.
