It has been so long since I have written. Lazy, thats all.

Had an awsome visit with Mark and Clay in November. Such a treat to have my boys all to ourselves! We ate, drank, saw great stuff and generally had a good time.

I had my hammertoes fixed while the guys were here. I had thought I better wait until they went home but their comments were "Yeah go, if you have your toes done, does that mean we get to sit around for a few days". That decided it. My toes are great. When I was home at Christmas I actually bought some close toed shoes that didn't kill my feet. Yeah hoo. Such an easy process.

Mike and Margaret Walsh were in Guayabitos for a month over Christmas so had lots of nice times with them.

We flew home December 15th and both of us got the flu about the 17th. Flat out. I crawled down to Burger Heaven for Evan's BD party. Lasted an hour and had to go home. So many events had to be missed. We did have our usual Christmas Eve party but I sat in the corner "in quarantine". It really was the pits. Did get to spend New Years with Ed and Anita. Our favourite. We had a NY New Years. 9pm Happy New Year and we were home in bed by 9:30 ready for our taxi at 4am to go to the airport on January 1.

Great to be back. Jim and Debbie, friends from Kelowna arrived on Jan 11. The very next day, we took the bus from LaPenita to Guadalajara. Spent a great 3 days there, touring then bussed to Lake Chapala/Ajijic. More amazing scenery and more amazing culture. Lots of gringos here.

A couple of nights there and then off to Guanojuato for 3 night, San Miguel de Allende for 2 nights, Tlaquepaque for a night and then back to Lapenita. A nice 12 day holiday. The busses in Mexico are first class. Fare includes a lunch, beverage, wifi etc.

Dropped Deb and Jim in Puerto Vallarta for a short all inclusive stay, then went to the airport and picked up Ross, my brother. He was in Lapenita with us for 13 days. I had given him the choice of renting something in the park, sleeping on our couch or setting up a tent on our pad. He opted for the tent and it appeared to work just fine for him. Had a short visit with Ann Griffiths and Judi Bouwman in Bucerias.

We have found a new destination that is wonderful. No name, but we drive on the most God awful road for 1 1/2 hour and come to the most amazing Hot Pools. It is absolutely in the bush but some very industrious Mexican has corralled lovely spring water into 16 stone and cement pools. They are spotlessly clean and no smell at all. A great place to lounge and have a picnic.

Our neighbours on Colby Street, Lisa and Norm spent 2 weeks in our area so some time with them. They moved the last 4 days up to Chacala. It is a very small town just up North from us by about 20 minutes or so. One day, Larry, Ross and I went to Chacala and joined Lisa and Norm on a boat ride to Cave Beach. Cave Beach is one of our favourites places to swim and sun. The road into Cave Beach has always been bad but we had heard that this year it was even worse so the boat was a good option. Took a lunch and hung around.

This last Monday, we had a visit from Bill and Carole Hall, Kathy Lane and jim and Maryanne Lane. They had driven up from PV to see where we stay and join us for lunch. It was so nice of them to do that. Ross was leaving for home on Wednesday so we decided to head down to PV on tuesday, spend a couple of nights with the crowd from home. Ross was flying out at 8:45pm so since we were staying in PV that night we didn't have to drive back to LaPenita in the dark which is a good thing. No banditos that we have seen but lots of people walking, biking, animals etc on the road and of course wild drivers of which not many seem to value life!!

Home today from our mini vacation just in time to take part in a Potluck dinner on our street.

Our good friends, Ed and Anita arrive Feb 20th to stay in Guayabitos. Can't wait!!

Time is marching on. People are talking about their departure dates. Ours will be the end of March sometime. Right now we are in no hurry.
